What Aapla Aamdar is today, what we are building next, and where we intend to take this.
What are we building?
Aapla Aamdar started as a simple question: why is it so hard to find your elected MLA or MP in Maharashtra, let alone contact them? Political information in the state is fragmented, rarely in Marathi, and not designed for ordinary citizens. We are building the answer to that problem — a reliable, bilingual, publicly accessible directory of political leaders and electoral data across Maharashtra.
Today, the platform covers all MLAs, MPs, and political leaders across parties — elected or not — with official contact details on each profile. It also carries detailed constituency-level electoral data from the 2024 Maharashtra Lok Sabha elections, including candidate-wise vote counts and party performance. Government jobs and government schemes listings round out the civic utility of the platform.
The next phase is about making this platform live and dynamic — daily updated government job listings, scheme announcements, and eventually, a space where political parties and leaders can maintain their own verified presence and communicate directly with constituents. We are also in early conversations with political parties about how this platform can serve as a neutral, trusted information layer between parties and the public.
How are we building it?
Aapla Aamdar is independently built and maintained by a single developer-designer. That means we move fast, keep costs low, and make decisions based on what actually serves citizens — not investor pressure or ad revenue. Here is how the near and medium-term roadmap looks:
Live Content & Infrastructure
- Automated daily scraper for government job listings from verified state and central sources
- Automated government schemes updates with source citations
- Human approval layer before any content goes live
- Migration from static directory to a live daily publication for jobs and schemes
- Application optimisation already completed, faster load time.
Deeper Data & Party Partnerships
- Adding 2019 election data along with existing 2024 Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha election data — constituency results, candidate performance, winning margins
- Historical election data going back to 2014 for longitudinal political analysis
- Verified political party pages — official contact, leadership, and announcements
- Early partnership pilots with political parties for verified leader profiles and direct citizen communication channels
- Press and researcher API access for verified journalists and academic institutions
Maharashtra's Political Intelligence Platform
- Expand coverage to all state assembly elections across Maharashtra going back 20 years
- MLA and MP activity tracker — legislative participation, committee memberships, public statements
- Citizen feedback layer — structured, moderated, and publicly visible responses to elected representatives
- Political analytics dashboard for parties, researchers, and media — constituency heat maps, swing analysis, demographic overlays
Our Journey So Far
Aapla Aamdar has been built independently, without funding, as a public utility. Here is an honest account of where it has been.
Early 2025: Concept & Build
Identified the gap: no single reliable, Marathi-friendly source for political leader contacts and constituency data in Maharashtra existed. Started building Aapla Aamdar as a static bilingual directory.
Mid 2025: Data Sourcing & Launch
Compiled and structured data for all MLAs, MPs, and political leaders across Maharashtra. Added 2024 Lok Sabha electoral data. Launched publicly with government jobs and schemes sections.
Jul 2026: Infrastructure Overhaul
Migrated to full static export — 11,168 pages pre-rendered at build time, served from CDN with zero server compute per request. Eliminated ISR overhead. Centralised locale handling.
Now: Live & Growing (As on Mid July 2026)
660+ monthly active users, 15.6K monthly impressions on Google Search, organic growth purely on SEO with zero paid acquisition, zero social media. Building toward automated daily content updates and political party partnerships.
A Note for Political Parties
Aapla Aamdar is a neutral platform — we are not affiliated with any political party or government body. However, we believe political parties have a genuine interest in ensuring their leaders are accurately represented and reachable by citizens.
We are open to working with parties on verified leader profiles, official contact updates, and announcement distribution — on terms that preserve editorial independence and public trust. If your party is interested in a conversation, reach out via the contact page.
